Ealing Lightning Championship -The Result
Veljko Stanisic was the overall victor of yesterday's 13th Ealing Lightning Championship outstripping the field by one and a half points. Alastair Johnstone, Anuurai Sainbayar and Gerry Blick also won trophies for their winning performances in their grading bands.

The Thames Valley and Middlesex league results show a marked advantage for home sides. OK, we don't have a partisan crowd roaring us on but it's a lot easier strolling down to the club than travelling for an hour, dodging traffic through rain and wind to a far away place. However the statistics hide the dedication of Ealing members who are not near to our own venue. Their work, home and away as well as the willingness of more local Ealing players to compete at distant locations is essential to the success of our teams.
